Literature Text

When I see your tearful face,
Your heartbroken smile,
I remember that place.

A place not to far from here,
It seems so far, and yet so near.

A place, a time we remember well.
Our time spent there wasn't hell.

No, in fact quite the opposite you see.
That place and time, it lives in me.

A place where I can see your face,
Wipe your tears, I make my case.

So far from here, and yet it seems...
Your demons will catch me,
If only in my dreams.

But when I awaken, you are there.
Shining face, Sun-Soaked hair.

I smile, and reach out for you,

Tear.

Torn, Plucked, Ripped from my chest.

You smile, and hold out your blood soaked hand.
And there within, past your golden band,

My Heart, My Heart it weeps and moans.
Love isn't worth this, or so I'm told.

But then I realize this, you see?
That happiness that lives in me...

Your love, your face, it's all I know.
Without it, my world? Filled with woe.
I love you Keri.
You're always worth it.
